Provincial Minister for Energy Planning & Development 5th Road Safety Conference was held on May 8, 2025 at Marriott Hotel Karachi, organized by Youth Parliament in collaboration with Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh. Chief Guest, Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah emphasized that over-speeding is the leading cause of increasing traffic accidents in Karachi. He called for public awareness, strict enforcement and youth participation.


Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Provincial Minister for Energy, Planning & Development, attended the conference as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted that over-speeding remains the leading cause of the increasing number of traffic accidents in Karachi. He stressed the urgent need for improved public awareness, stricter enforcement of traffic laws, and coordinated efforts among relevant authorities to reduce road-related fatalities and injuries.


Founder & Chairman of Youth Parliament, Rizwan Jaffar stressed the need for a local train system and better public transportation in Karachi to help reduce fatalities. Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho recommended the use of modern traffic technologies, while DIG Traffic Peer Muhammad Shah pointed out underage and unlicensed driving as major causes, suggesting traffic education at school level.
